The growing importance of dry ports (Inland Intermodal Terminals) in the economic transformation of landlocked nations as well as port countries is widely acknowledge. Dry ports are now becoming the hub of transhipment to inland destinations thereby promoting inter-regional trade and business. More importantly, dry ports are fast becoming the gateway to international markets in facilitating trade, economic growth and development.
Aim
The major aim of this programme is to advance the knowledge and practice of dry port concept, planning, operations and management in landlocked countries and the transiting countries economy.
Objectives
1) To enable course participants acquire an advanced knowledge and practice of conceptualizing, planning, operations and managing dry ports cost-effectively and efficiently.
2) To assist course participants acquire the unique skills of global supply chain management, dry port logistics and the ability to predict uncertainties in global port logistics.
3) To enable participants acquire strategic planning and management skills to foresee prospects, opportunities and constraints in dry port management and to strategize solutions to dry port problems.
